Principal Emeritus

David Wright has dedicated his career to preserving and reinvigorating historic buildings of national significance. His work has received the State of Maryland’s highest award for historic preservation, as well as numerous regional and local awards. In 2011, the American Institute of Architects recognized David’s preservation talents by elevating him to the College of Fellows.

David holds a Master of Architecture degree from the Harvard University Graduate School of Design. An accomplished author, his published works include several works on Maryland’s cast iron architecture, a history of McKim Mead & White’s involvement with the original Goucher College campus in midtown Baltimore, a catalogue of etchings by R. Swain Gifford, and a two-volume set about the work of artist-etcher Peter Moran, which received the Ewell L. Newman award. He previously served as a director of the American Historical Print Collectors Society and currently serves on the Publication Committee.
